Gauging intrest for a Z cruise in and swap meet in Upstate SC

  • Gauging intrest for a Z cruise in and swap meet in Upstate SC

Looking to see who would be interested in a cruise in and parts swap meet in Spartanburg SC. Looking to do a parts swap meet and car ride to Chimney Rock, NC. Take Hwy 9 from Spartanburg to Chimney Rock (50 mile ride in the mountains with many curves) The dates I was looking at were June 22nd rain make up date of June 29th or July 20th with rain date of the 27th. Anybody interested let me know by posting here or send me a PM.

If one of my Zs is up for the trip, I would be down. It seems like all the meets and events are over on the West coast! We need some Southeastern love!

I would probably go from Atlanta, we don't have near enough events in the southeast. Of course, I'd first have to make sure my 86 was road worthy, and start paying insurance. So, June might be a little soon.

Either date is fine with me. Just looking to get a date with the most response. I agree we are weak with z stuff here in the SE. I know there is a good amount of people here in the upstate and into NC with z cars I have sold parts to that are on this site. Hope to get a few of us together for a little show.

So, is upstate SC also called northern South Carolina and is it near southern North Carolina?

Kind of. Upstate SC is basically the cluster of northern counties that border North Carolina and Georgia. Here in SC we have 3 basic divisions of the state. Upstate, Midlands, and Coast.

    You have a 1961 E100? I've owned two of them, a 1964 with 200cid mustang 6cyl engine auto trans and a 1965 with a 170cid manual.

Yep I still have the ole 61. Been driving it for about 7 years. Mine is pretty much original except for the motor. Someone replaced it with a 1960's 200 series. I figure from a mustang or falcon. It's funny looking at younger people looking at the 3 on the tree and them trying to figure out how the shift pattern is. Just took it off the road to redo some suspension and I have a king pin going bad so I decided to take it off the road and give it some more tlc. Going to fix the one bad rust spot in the back and put it in full primer for now. If you have any pics of your 64 or 65 send me one. I always enjoy looking at other Eco's

Like the rest of the guys, "if mine is running" I would probably go. Get a date locked down and I can throw it out to the Georgia Z club and possibly cross it over to the Z Atlanta group as well.

I will see about starting a new thread this weekend for the event since I can't edit this one. Date will be July 27th 12pm-3pm Est. for parts swap meet and 4 pm to head to the mountains. I will try to get some links for the route and more info for The Chimney Rock area.
