Your Location in Your Profile

  • Your Location in Your Profile

***Edit by Admin: Everyone should please fill out your member profiles with at the very least your location and a valid e-mail address. ***

Today, I was playing around on the Members List … checking out
members web sites and where they are from.

I sorted on "Location" to see who else might be from the Norcal
Bay Area and was amazed at how many don't even list the state
they are from. Why's that? Are people afraid that someone would
use the list for midnight parts runs? Yeah, well, I guess that is always
a possibility and I can understand there are some that want to remain
anonymous … that's just the kind of person they are. Not me … I'm kind
of an "out there" kind of guy.

So to make it easier to find me I re-listed my location as "California, San Leandro USA". That way when the list is sorted on location, my usermane
is listed with the other Californians. This is something others might think
    about doing.

I listed mine with pride since nobody here is going to make a midnight parts run to the middle of nowhere.

    (Besides, I have a shotgun, a shovel, and acres…)

Good point though. It's interesting to see where people are from.

I changed my profile to conform with your idea. Good Thinking.
I can't believe that 407 out of 756 members didn't list anything. I know that Z owners are poor , but I didn't know that 54% were homeless.

I come from such a small city and most people here know me. You could literally come to the city and ask a random person if they know where "Lance" lives and they would be able to show you most likely. Not sure how comfortable I am with that, lol.

Very good idea. I'm thinking it might even be prudent to even make it mandatory?

Example: How many times do people list something for sale and not enter their location? If it's right under their username it's no issue.

Maybe you could give all the members a month to list their location/email. This would weed out any fake profiles or completely idle ones. Anyone who doesnt change their profile gets deleted. :banni

I don't browse this part of the forum much. But nice idea. Many of you know where I am anyway … besides .. there are plenty of HOTTER Z's out there than mine …
