86 turbo lip

So I got a 86 turbo lip for me AE. The problem is it doesn't seem to fit around the fenders? It sticks out. when I bolt the fender parts there is a huge gap between the car and the lip. Is there something I'm not understanding? It looks just like my old lip?WTF!

Its the same. Something is installed incorrectly, or its not an 86T lip. Pictures?

I just put my old one back on and it fits perfectly. I compared the two and they are basically identical. Do you guys think if I put it on it will conform to the fenders over time? My old one seems to curve slightly more around the fenders.

Bet it's an 84-85 Lip and not an AE/86 lip to fit the wider fenders.

I'm not going to speculate until you post a picture of it.
