    Idle up solenoid removal

    I know its been posted up before but i cant find any definitive answers to my problem. My 85 NA is bone stock and i ordered the plenum block off plates from ASCO and started with the idle up solenoid, after i blocked it off and started the car it would die. Everyone else says it should run fine without this, is there anything else i need to do to have it run without the idle controls?

    Use the little screw on the side of the throttle body to crack the throttle plate open a bit, you have to manually set your idle now

    make sure to take out the little bit of slack in the throttle cable now.

    I have all the block off plates from ASCO is there anything else i should know before removing any of the other stuff?

    Won't pass emissions if you are in a state that has them You'll need an egr plug for the exhaust too But no I've had no issues with mine

    The first time i blocked off the idle controls the car started smoking and smelled like it was running rich, seafoam was used in the car recently but it should all be gone by now. Is this a problem or normal when you first block it off? Sorry for all the questions

    I take the throttle plate stop screw fully out from the bottom, and install it from the top for proper access, and adjustment. be sure to have the jamb nut on it too - from the top. just takes trial and error to get the proper speed set.
    Damn dirty angels....these cars!

    Under the cover - THE BANANA… that needs to be re-energized.
