Tranny Rear Bushing??

  • Tranny Rear Bushing??

Alright so I'm getting my 71c tranny rebuilt, but I need some kind of brass bushing that goes in the trail housing where the yoke is connected. I've gone to my nissan dealership and they can't even get a name. The only thing they can find is a diagram of the rear part of the tranny. The Brass bushing doesn't even have a part number. The manager told me the only way for me to get that bushing is for them to order the entire rear part of the tranny. Which would have costed $350 bucks, but nissan doesn't even make that anymore, so I'm kinda confused on what to do or what to look for. No name or part number. So does anyone know what I'm talking about?

The guy who is rebuilding my tranny said "You have 1-4 gear cluster on the bottom of the tranny and 5th gear is the main shaft on top. So theirs 2 shafts which means their are 2 main barrings in the middle of the tranny. The top barring, which is the main shaft, failed and in doing so, made the shaft move every which way it could. Because of that happening, the brass bushing got beat to hell. And from what the guy told me, he could just throw it back in, but he can't be for sure what could happen.

So part number, name, anything at this point will be helpful.
    Thank you for your patience.

Hes always leaking out in my cylinders, making a mess on the cars behind me with all that coolant. So I discipline it with 6,600rpm burnouts.

If your transmission shop can't find the part, find another shop

Pretty sure that plug is for the machined hole, like a freeze plug, and no help at all.

I am not sure that part is available.

Was worded poorly. Meant to say, "This is an easy thing to find". By using the diagram given I'm sure the trans guy can figure out what part he needs. Hard to assess OP's need with his lack of confidence of knowing what he needs as well lol.
