Chipping 86 ecu to convert to turbo?

Hi guys,

First off I don't have a Z31.

I have a 280z that I plan to drop a L28ET in. I was doing some research on what I could use to manage it, and came across the idea of using a turbo Z31 ecu (http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/2623…xt-swap-guide/). Said to be cost effective (for what I want to do) and with the use of the MAF, a needed improvement over the original.

Anyhow, further searching led me to a write-up on http://z31.com/, which compared the differences in the various ECUs. I was at the JY the other day and stumbled onto an 86 z (n/a, auto). Figuring that I may make use of it and for 50$ it was worth the try. I yanked the ECU with all the harness ends with about 6" of wire.

To make the conversion work, I need to re-chip the ECU with a turbo map. For the life of me, I can't find a write-up on this. The closest I found was: http://z31performance.com/showthread…rformance+chip. Which turned out to not be chipping related.
And though not going down the NISTUNE route, I read the install note, it looks like IC4 (28 pin) and IC5 (24 pin) are removed. But I don't want to assume.

I have a Moates Burn1 and a couple AT29C256 chips (not sure if they are the right for chips) laying around from playing with Hondas.

Secondly, from http://z31.com/prom/liveedit/, there is a stock image for a SS. Is this a good starting point? Again, the goal is a reliable, fun motor. Eventually, I'll turn up the boost, and probably run 450cc injectors (because I have a set laying around). But if I can get a more reliable streetable 250-300 whp, I'll be happy.
