VG30DE oil pan on a VG30E?

  • VG30DE oil pan on a VG30E?

Still working on these oil pans however, I wanted to know does the Z31 chassis have any issues running a Z32 pan…bare in mind I realize that pickup tube orientation is different but, has anyone done or know of using the Z32 oil pan? Does the pan fit in the chassis? I'm looking for any info that anyone could offer in regards to this.

    Re: Question

Pan chassis MIGHT fly, but I do know that the pickup tubes are on opposite sides, and the pan is a good bit larger, whether it will clear the rack or not is a mystery to me.

I believe that both the pans have the same bend where the cross member is. I just want to be sure that the Z32 pan dimensions from a stock stand point will function in the chassis.

If you look on youtube you can find those install vids of the vg30dett into a z31 and they show the mods they did to make everything fit.

    Re: Question

If the pan bolts onto the SOHC blocks, that just might make the VG33 a near drop in install if you use the original crank, oil pump, and pickup tube… everything I see there is where it needs to be as far as I remember. (But I could have it reversed).

    Re: Question

i know the oil pan rails are identical between all the VG30s. Not sure on the 33s but I'm willing to bet it is. I just want to make sure the kickout and so forth has enough clearance and what not. I have something I'm making that will make all of us VG owners very happy.

33 block is almost exactly the same as the 30 block. I think the only difference is the bores and a block-heater plug which was not on my Z31 block.

the pan on the de engines will not clear the rack whan i did the test fit of my det i had to take roughly 1/2" out of the kickout on teh side of the pan to clear the rack.

He is probably trying to make one oil pan for all applications instead of two or three different oil pans.

DE(TT) oil pans are longer than the 30/33E. Should be 7mm longer due to the oil pump and crank difference between them. You can bolt on all but the 4 bolts up front where they won't line up with the oil pump.

Yes but I can't offer anything until I am a vendor…but others plug their products/parts on this forum and havent paid a vendors fee. I'm not naming individuals but it def seems I'm being singled out. I await admin to validate my sponsorship fees so I can help out around here.
