Distributor is making a weird noise

There's a slim possibility the rear bolt on the driver's size cam came loose allowing the cam to try and "walk", only to be stopped by the distributor, but the extra interference will grind/scrape/chatter … also possible your cam gear at the front came loose and is causing harmonics/vibration in the distributor too

You have to get in there and inspect man, as much as you don't want to take it apart, that's the only way to be sure
