Using Z31 VG30E cams in my VG33E Xterra

  • Using Z31 VG30E cams in my VG33E Xterra

    Hi all -

I'm trying to locate information on the Z31 cams used in VG33E engines.

Are the 252 duration OEM cams only available in the 1984-1989 Z31 VG30E, or are these cams in other model VG30E vehicles as well (Pathfinder), making them easier to locate?

Also, has anybody used adjustable cam gears to dial in the best results (dyno)? If so, what are some of those adjustments?

    Thanks!

Ok, so I answered one of my questions…looks like the cams in the 84-88 Maxima and in the 87-88 200SX are the same as the cams in the 83-87 300ZX. Also, looks like the 300ZX might have dropped to a 248 duration cam in 1988, according to Schneider Cams.

I build Toyota MR2's too, and the MR2 community is pretty savvy, but not like this. I love it!
