S13 rear subframe

  • S13 rear subframe

I have a 1985 z31 with the stock subframe… Everyone is telling me to do the s13 rear subframe swap. Has anyone done this recently and if so did you face any challenges? Any tips or suggestions? Did you have a donor car or is there somewhere you recommend buying all the swap parts? What was the grand total and how much labor time did it take? Also any regrets on doing it or wishing you would have done something else to make it go by faster. Thanks in advance!

Have you bothered to look around here on the forum?

I did look, still had many questions.

Anyone who has done this did you prefer s13 or s14 and is a s3 hicas vlsd worth installing? I'm wanting to eventually do some form of lsd on a daily. Any recomendations or tips is approaches. Thanks!

Do you want a s13/s14 subframe or do you want a VLSD?
    Or both?

To do the subframe swap, you have to know what you are doing in general. Nothing personal, but by the many questions you have asked here (most without searching), I highly doubt you have the ability to do the swap.

There is a write-up on how to make a hybrid VLSD.
    Search for that.

I'm not doing swap myself… I want something that will be cost efficient down the road for coil overs and lsd

What are your goals? Like Amreboot says, you can have a vlsd without the expense of a subframe swap.

I have to ask why you need to consider a subframe swap or even lsd for a daily driver… what are your plans for the car? power? weekend track days?

The car is my daily for now but idk how much longer that'll last. I'm wanting to lower the car and get some sort of lsd on it… Power wise I'm hoping for around 500-600 to wheels

Then you need to keep a close eye on amreboot's build thread… he's going through pretty much what you will need to do
