86 n/a Wont Stay Running For More Than One Second

Hi guys, I just picked up an 86 n/a 5 speed and I was wondering what is my cars problem. To start, the previous owner said the car randomly died one day after running well for years so he replaced the alternator and after the install, the car would start and run for 2 seconds then die. Well, I thought it was the fuel pump so I replaced that along with the pump relay and fuel filter and the car still does the same thing . So, I unplugged the air flow meter and the car will not start at all same when I unplug the tps. I need some help because my mechanical skills are kind of intermediate. Thanks
