Replacement of OEM Shock Absorbers

  • Replacement of OEM Shock Absorbers

My 1984 turbo GLL model still has the original OEM Tokiko three way remote adjustable shock absorbers. They’re shot and need to be replaced.

Because Nissan doesn’t carry them any more and nobody rebuilds the OEM shocks, can anyone recommend a replacement brand and model? I’d like to keep the car as close to OEM spec as possible. No racing is done with this car.

I wish I could give you good news ....... The best replacement were tokico but those are not available anymore …

I replaced my adj. shocks back circa 2000 with New Old stock … and they are still good … ( no miles on these )

supposedly none are rebuild-able … only because no one is there to do the job … ( how about $1000 to rebuild a set ? )

    so good luck

Your not screwed, you can put the KYB Gas Adjusts with a turbo adapter. Source from here

These guys are great to work with and the price is pretty decent. I have the KYB's installed for many years, I did have an issue early on with one of them and they warranted that one, solid for 20 years now and they are not as still as Bilstein or Tokikos but the car handles nice and not to rough of a ride. You can probably replace springs at the same time if you still have the originals on your car.
