Tranny or Clutch

  • #16
lol, when the car is off, there is nothing spinning. Therefor it doesn't matter if the clutch/ hydraulic system even works. I could completely remove the clutch disk from the car and it'll do the same thing.
I was just saying that to ensure that the Trans actually shifts on it own. I did a trans on a Miata and You couldnt even get into gear with the car off. I'll take a look at the pedal and I might (sigh) drop the tranny again, just might buy an entirely new clutch even. But I'll go to all my resorts before I drop it again.

    Thanks SBC big help here.

Noticed somethings here and there and thought I would list them:
-Near impossible to downshift from neutral (rev match or occasional luck)
-When I clutch in and out at freeway speeds (50-70mph) vibration in the rear
-Doesn't always feel like its all the way in gear
-1st is ridicoulousy Hard (like im talking about chris brown and rihanna punch hard) to put in gear any circumstance

I was going to mess with the linkage today but due to some things happened earlier, like a melted fuse panel reasons because of a shitty bay area shop (before i had the z) and drained alternator or battery this may put the trans on hold and I may just deal with it for a bit. But i may have a resource for another tranny, thing is he's the same guy welding my suspension on the 240z so I may knock all of it out in one swoop.

    Any other ideas?

Well turns out the the tranny isn't done in completely, i adjusted the clutch pedal alittle more and finally shifted WAY better. Previous was definately done though under some more inspectio the clutch had very slight cracks. Im going to drive it for sometime and maybe bring it back to the mountains and see if i get the same problem.
