this argument is void when it comes to using spacers/different wheels! your product looks great. just not for me!
    no hard feelings!

    18x9.5-25 in the front
    18x11+6 min the rear

No issues, and my front have all sorts of clearance to the coilover body+spring

I also have a 1" pulled front fenders

After years of messing with various setups, settings and sizes here is the sweet spot
    17x9 (zero offset) with 235/40
17x9.5/10 with 255/40, im not going to recommend an offset because that is largely dependent on what modifications you have

The key is the front. On a lowered car this gives you a realistic alignment and with rolled fenders not problem beating the car with out rubbing. Anything wider you are making modifications and probably run into rubbing of some sort you will have. Unless your turning out big numbers or going pro racecourse you are not going to need any more tire than that. Nitto NT05s 235/40 provided me all sorts of grip. Ive driven with wider tires in the front and just made the steering feel heavy and was more annoying then benefits provided.

Sort of related: how much space does doing ZG flares net you, like Butter's car? It's out of my budget, but I like to dream of running 315 wide hoosiers some day on 17x11.

awesome info man! I wanted to run 255's as I had planned on racing road course.
as for power im hoping for 400whp for stage one and then build an engine for 600+

I figure do it once do it right rather than what I used to do haha

Did some one say 255's and 315s?

    88t stance 6.jpg

255/40/17 on the same exact setup, except the springs have sagged a little now that they are on my blue Z. Rears are 275/35/18 crappy nexans.

Then I borrowed some black 18x10.5 +15 with 315/30/18 hoosier slicks. Rears fit great with just rolled fenders, they needed a little pulling to fit as is. I never drove on them just test fit. Fronts have the same 25mm spacer I ran with the 17s, so I could run a 10-15mm smaller spacer and do some fender work and run the 315s up front as well.

The chrome 18's had 285/35/18s on in those pictures. So 285 on 18x10.5 -10 (including spacer) fits pretty well on stock front fenders. With only 1.6deg of camber.

I prefer the 255/40/17s. I just had a few free 245/45's and then cheap new 245/45's.

The white z will be on 285/35 slicks all the way around next time it runs. Should be sticky.

bumping this again, Fitment gurus needed!

looking at some used wheels: 18x9+22and 18x10+15 (going off adams sizing these should fit well in the rear and need about a 25mm front spacer)

but if I wanted to spend too much money, would something like this be hard to fit?
    Fronts: 9.5j +12
    Rears: 12j +15

  • #25
12j +15 should fit in the rears. The 12j +22's I tried were just a touch too high of an offset, I think they cleared the control arms, but might have rubbed on the inner fender walls.

i run 18x9.5+7 in front and 18x9.5+12 in rear if I ran a 8-10mm spacer in rear it would be flush with fender but tire would rub running 245's the rear has lots of room backsapce wise very very little on the outside. So basicly the front will hit your coilover if you have stance coilover with a 9.5+12 in front the rear should be fine if you stretch the fuck out of a 225 or so tire. For reference here is my setup with the aformentioned specs.

God fucking damnit dude. If I had the funds for wheels I would buy these on the spot. Those specs are 100% perfect for a Kouki body.

    My effective specs are

    18x10.5 et 0 245/40
