Updates on New Site - 01/19/13

?May be a stupid question but was there a reason we updated? or was it just to stay hip and cool.....

Now that we have updated we should be able to enable Taptalk… Can someone do this PLEASE. It would be awesome to check this from there.

Well one of the reasons was so that we could add Tapatalk. And it will be turned on as soon as we are satisfied that it'll work properly.

i would say for the same reason you upgrade your phone when phones are supposed to be used to make phone calls.

Dont know if anybody else has this problem, but all the links to other threads in My Ride post now don't work, neither does the link to My Ride - which is my Signature.
Also I'm having to go through this new site searching by key word to find threads I either started or participated in.
When I search by VegasZ31T very few of the threads I posted in show up (which would have made it much simpler).
And you can't (or I can't find it) just click on a link and bring up every thread you have posted in.
I understand you may have some teething problems. Will these matters be addressed sometime in the future?
P.S., Quite frequently, it takes a very long time for my posts to actually post (which just happened). Now I just walk away for 15 minutes or so.

there is a fix but it doesnt work 100%. but its better than nothing. its made by the same guy who made impex.

What about enabling the auto image resize option? That and setting an image resolution limit would help to keep oversized pictures from blowing up the page on everyone's screen.

I don't mind the image sizes being native, we just bitch at people who do it wrong until they fix it, secondly we can add the overflow option to hide the part that runs off screen so the formatting isn't messed up, people can still click on the image and view separately…

I just hate it when forums force us to have to click each thumbnail and back and thumbnail and back when there's 50 pictures and we have broadband ....

Not sure if it was mentioned but will we be able to use [youtube] bb code?

Pm's are pretty handicapped now. The thread style is gone, or at least I have not found it. Now to see the whole chain I hop out and look for the rest in my inbox....

So, what's the best solution? Will the original links be reinstated as is or will it be necessary to go through the posts and enter new links?

the best solution is to back up the current installation again, take the site down temporarily, or test the .htaccess modification on a subdomain, which requires copying the current db/installation over to another hosting home directory.

all of which is not hard, but takes time and resources.

The only other z related forum I could find on tap talk was a Italian z32 site.. We will be the fist z31 site… And probably the only ever… But still.. Let's get this turned on.
