You need to adjust the traction and toe arms.

    Thanks for the reply.
Does the mount point for the rear toe arm still need to be modified still like you did?
I just cant see how adjusting toe and traction arms will make enough difference and give me an extra say 2cm's clearance for the bolt nut etc.

Adjusting the traction arm will rotate the knuckle to a new location.

You may still need to grind and use low profile hardware

Word…I did not have this problem?
With either the stock s13 goddies or the z32 alum arms.
What did you do to help the mounting points form your shocks on the z?

I made angled pieces to put the shocks on a angle to avoid bind, but do not have a prob. In your regards?

I do remember when 1st test fitting everything I had binding issues with some bits, but this kit was not available then.

    Somewhere???
It was straight forward…cut and boxed, on the frame, 7/8 bolts through the back bar thingy, square bar and drilled a hole through it for the ext, for the front mounts. All aftermarket adjustable arms, r32 brakes and bearings, D2 coil overs.

this also depends on the coils, I noticed with stance coils the tubes down at the bottom are thicker than some other coils, I have the same problems with the coil slightly rubbing the bolt for the toe arm, I haven't got my other SPL arms in yet so I can test and see if adjusting will fix the problem for me, but I'm sure it will!!

I had the same issue with the knuckles. In my case the front mounts moved a little while welding and where about 1 inch lower when I mounted the subframe. So I bolted the rear first and used a jack to lift the two front mounts on the subframe. Luckely for me it stayed in place bolted everything up and had the same issue as you. What I did was run the bolt in the other direction adjusted all of my arms and have enough space inbetween. Should be up and running next month hopefully I don't have no issues with the subframe and suspension because of this.

yeah I thought the stance coilover base appeared quite wide, which is whats causing my issue.
Not a biggie, just need to cut 1/3rd off the knuckle and move it to the back. Only issue is then need a new bushing installed.
That way have enough clearance and bolt will still run away from coilover.

Maybe you guys aren't mounting the sub as far up as possible, with a slight nose up tilt?

I have tons of space around my Tanabes, and would still have plenty of room if Stance was there.

^ Yes but with relocated strut towers…

I'm telling you guys, if you set the links right (get an alignment), it just takes a little grinding and some low profile hardware like I showed.

If I get a chance when I get home, I'll take some pics, seems like the issue that a lot of guys on here are having is due to an alignment. When installing the aftermarket links, adjust them to the stock length and go from there. I have full clearance and have all the stock hardware except for the eccentric lock out bolts, which everyone should have once aftermarket links are installed.

The rear arms are all stance links

  • Re: S13/S14/S15 Subframe Conversion Kit GB-STANCE MULTILINK!

interesting, I set my aftermarket arms to stock arm lengths and its still too close.
I have already modified one knuckle and tomorrow will do the same to the second.
Its a small mod really. take 1/3rd off the mount and re-weld it on the opposite side.
This then lets me mount as normal with standard hardware and no issues.

As am using s15 subframe with stance offset bushes, I have no upper bushing. I therefore created custom 5mil bushes for front and back allowing more body clearance.

Having looked at some installs the subframe comes extremely close to the body rails up front, whereas my s15 subframe has decent clearance up front.

knuckles moded and all is well.
need to look into r33 ebrake now and install s15 helicoil diff and shafts.
