Re: S13/S14/S15 Subframe Conversion Kit GB-Pictures and WHY! pg6
YOU WILL BE WELDING THINGS :tomates Thought that was clear from the beginning. This is a weld together kit, requires a lot of welding and cutting. Requires an experienced welder/fabricator for the install, though greatly simplifies install because all the parts are pre-fabbed. You will be cutting and welding and test fitting. You shouldn't need to be measuring or centering the subframe or aligning it.
Why do the rear studs not come welded?
The reason is simple, and I have already stated it. The fit between the studs and subframe must be a tight slip fit for strength. Variations in subframe and Z31 chassis mean the studs cannot be prewelded to the template as initially considered during prototype phases. The front tubes do not come pre-welded to the U-shape connectors for the same reason. Pre-welding means you will either have a sloppy fit, no fit at all, or be cutting everything apart and starting over.
To me, the impact of this change is minimal.. Maybe 5 extra minutes and 1 extra process step. Here is an example:
1.) Insert studs into subframe
2.) Lay template/rear bar over studs
3.) Weld to studs (AS PICTURED)
4.) Remove rear bar with studs attached from subframe. Bam, its now a perfect fit to YOUR subframe.
If your worried about your welding skills causing things to warp, maybe its not for you. I'm not a pro welder by any means, but as you can see, I easily welded everything together without warping or distortion. Also remember, this stuff isnt 18ga sheet metal. Its thick, strong stuff."produce first.talk second." -

Are the U-shaped parts welded up except for the tube portion? Will that be the only portion that needs to be actually welded to the "u shape" or are the top and bottom plates from the "u shape" also just cut outs that need welding?

Thanks to MrKaira I now have his spot, #27. His plans changed for his Z31. And yes I will take the Stance bushings. Not sure if I need S13 or the offset S14 yet because I have to obtain the subframe for the install. :lol:84 AE Mod -

You guys just love the stereotype of Z31 owner with either no money, or "OMG fabrication! I'm out!" With your shops and expensive Tig welders and Mills.

Re: S13/S14/S15 Subframe Conversion Kit GB-PAY YOUR BILL
Welding the studs to the bar is probably a total of 5% of the welding required to assemble the entire kit and is required for proper fitment. TIG is not required. Not sure why there are hesitant feelings about this. People almost seem ungrateful that I wasted countless hours and spent plenty of my own money to bring this to market.
Pricing is released. Final kit price is $190 shipped to continental USA. You put down a $50 deposit, this means you owe a remainder of $140. Please pay your bill ([email protected]) and make sure the shipping address is correct.
I will update the list with those who would like the discounted STANCE bushings with their kit. Please pay for those as well at this time.
Thanks,

Wow, can't believe you peps!!!
It is as easy as it gets!!! Futher more I'm sure you U.S. guys have alot more shops and people that do portable welding, rent a welder!!!
Heck even I can get a tractor repair or tire repair guy to come out for a hour for $50.00 to weld something.
I did the swap and the only welding I had to do was boxing in the knotches and the extensions.88na2T-s13,q45 swap 12.6@110mph
